Normal Range of Values- Liver Function Test

If you have been asked to undergo the liver function tests for determining the nature of problem, the following tests are conducted. Along with what is tested, it is also important to know, what are the normal range values of different parameters. Any movement up or down this range indicates a problem.

Liver Function Tests (LFT)
Bilirubin Total 0-1 MG/DL
Conjugated (D. Bilirubin) 0-0.35 MG/DL
Unconjugated (I.D. Bilirubin) 0.2-0.65 MG/DL
SGOT 10-40 IU/L
SGPT 10-40 IU/L
Alkaline Phosphatase 40-112 U/L
Total Protein 6-8.5 GM/DL
Albumin 3.5-5 GM/DL
Globulin 2-3.5 GM/DL

Please note that you shall seek doctoral advice if your tests show some upside or downside from there normal range values. A little movement up or down shall not be a cause of concern unless doctors says so. So, you shall not be judgmental about your health by looking at these figures also. There is also a variation in these figures from one lab to another and depending on the type of testing methods used.
